character's name America
character's canon Axis Powers Hetalia
taken from Present day -- let's say January 1, 2010?
distinguishing features America's ahoge (it represents Nantucket) and glasses (they represent Texas, apparently, though I have my own theory about why he wears them), though they're readily apparent in screencaps/icons/fanart/what have you. He also has a flag tattoo on his chest. His body language is quite open and, er, energetic, and he talks with his hands a lot.
possessions of note America's usually depicted in military uniform -- tan BDUs and Air Force leather bomber jacket. He doesn't appear in the BDUs that often in modern times, but the jacket's stuck around. He usually wears a cross and dog tags, though he keeps them under his shirt most of the time.
superhuman abilities America's preternaturally strong. He could fling around buffalo by the horns when he was small, and in modern days he's been shown pulling trucks around behind him with almost no effort at all. As a Nation, he's hard to kill (he's not likely to die unless the United States of America is eradicated not only as a physical but as a cultural entity, so -- good luck with that), and most of the injuries he receives are comedic rather than serious. He can definitely get hurt -- he's broken his leg in canon, for example -- but none of it keeps him down for long.
history Oh, the temptation to link to the United States of America and have done with it is so strong.
( But I'm going to do a big old writeup instead! )
